Description We are switching regions and starting to tackle Bordeaux.  So this is the first wine our wine guy set us up with to try.  His theory is to start small and work our way up.  Nice wine, but I would have to say a strong just above average.  Steph really liked the smell.  And we both took a sip and said ‘Bordeaux’, so it’s clearly in the style.  But it was not very spicy and didn’t have a lot of the earthy flavors I love. This wine is from the ‘right bank’ of Bordeaux, which is the Merlot side (vs. left banks cabernet).  It might actually be the Merlot, as usually I’m not a huge fan of Merlot’s. Still, pas cher and knowing a bit more about the style has already helped me to learn Bordeaux.
